I recently order a set of three LED inserts for the cargo area of my 2024 RX450h+ from Taiwan, via eBay. They arrived in today's mail and I installed them, one on the lift gate and the other two on each side of the cargo area. Big improvement in lighting in that area now so, I am happy with the quality. From order date to delivery was 18 days. Two pics of the old LED insert (1 LED) and the new one (12 LED's)., along with the lighting unit that Lexus provides in the back. You have to be a little careful removing the LED inserts. I used a very small screwdriver as a lever. I also purchased a different and large one for my wife's NX lift gate and it is like a flood light!
I found it odd that Lexus used a black-tinted housing for the rear cargo light; it makes their LED less effective. I have no issue with the current setup, but I want more usable light during the night.
These lights have more LEDs packed in them compared to the single LED that the OEM uses.
The LEDs are on the "cooler" (bluish) side, so it won't match with the rest of the interior's "warmer"(yellowish) look. I'm fine with that as long as have more light in the back.
I'm planning on getting a clear housing, like the side cargo lights, to replace the dark-tinted housing in the near future.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the amount of light these LEDs produce.
i cheap stuff much brighter but must open hole to expose more of the led scrape it with knife or 7/32 drill bit to open hole looks like this this is for the rear doors they dont fit snug so put crazy glue rear door underdash fits like original passenger underdash front charging port area mini led rear seats mini leds 2 of them rear again rear gargo 3 leds changed... much brighter than photo cargo leds rear gargo
made some upgrades my self much brighter
Thanks will keep checking back. I ordered the ones someone posted on EBay and they did not fit my 2024 RX 350h. Took the old one out and theirs was slightly to large. Would not snap below the two tabs on each side. Put the old one back and went right into place.
What is the source for the Under-Dash lighting? Is it "plug 'n' Play" or does it require disconnecting and reconnecting wiring? I don't trust myself with any time wiring projects.
