I think mine is not working properly. While it does come on automatically, the sensitivity is way too high - too much rain before it triggers. It also seems like it may be an intermittent problem as on some occasions it works as every other car I have had with a rain sensing system. First problem with my new-ish RX350. Have not had it back to the dealer yet but will mention when it goes in. Annoying for sure.

If that is the case enough complaining to the dealer and Lexus could get it fixed....

It seems like that is the only thing for those with the worst issues. Ours seems to mostly work now. We get so little rain though that I’ve only used it twice in 14 months.

Ours work fine for us, but I have the sensitivity adjusted so that it takes MORE rain to turn on the wipers. If too sensitive, it just smears those three drops that trigger it!

Total oppositive for me, won't consistently come on unless its a down pour in which case I just set it to slow speed. My MDX had same issues.

This new Lexus windshield washer system SUCKS. It barely gets any fluid on the glass. It's an unnecessarily complex system that flexes the feed hose with every wipe. However, here in Texas, with barely any rain, it may last.

The lower part of the windshield doesn't get cleaned at all. Does anyone else see this? I have to see if the jets on the arms are adjustable, but at first glance they don't seem to be. And the fluid from the factory contains no detergent at all, have to get some good German OEM windshield washer fluid in there - the Germans know how to clean a windshield.
The new windshield wiper system is useless! As you mentioned, it doesn't clean. The only thing it does is help when it's raining. Wish I had never bought this car!

If you only have the factory fill fluid in there, buy some washer fluid concentrate and pour it in. The factory fill makes a mediocre system useless.

I had a 2024 loaner and noticed that. It squirts such a minimal amount of fluid and the blades are moving ahead of the fluid so they dry swipe a couple times first, smearing in the bug or dirt even worse before the weak fluid streams on. Literally a dealbreaker for me as I drive thousands of highway miles in the southeast. Bug covered windshields are common for me. I need an effective wash system.

I was really excited about the 5th gen models and was sure I was ready to move on from my 2022, but after 5 days in the 2024, No Thanks. "The Endless Pursuit Of Perfection" has been replaced by "The Endless Pursuit Of Plastic".

I don’t think any of the commercial washer fluids would damage plastic headlights.

However, one thing I would NOT use would be dishwashing soap. That stuff is meant to cut grease on dishes…what do you think it would do to any wax or other coating on the paint? especially if it is allowed to dry…

I use the stuff you buy in the one gallon jug, and dilute it with water according to the label.
