Default Windshield Washer Effectiveness

What do people think of the front windshield washer effectiveness? Mine seems poor. The fluid quantity isn't that much, and it sprays on too late in the wipe cycle, the water mostly hits the mid to upper windshield first, and thus most of it is quickly swept over the roof. The lower part of the windshield doesn't get cleaned at all. Does anyone else see this? I have to see if the jets on the arms are adjustable, but at first glance they don't seem to be. And the fluid from the factory contains no detergent at all, have to get some good German OEM windshield washer fluid in there - the Germans know how to clean a windshield.

I do not like. I like the conventional sprayer mounted between the hood and the windshield! They are great for irritating tailgaters.

‘’The Lexus systems works OK but prefer the.traditional sprayers.

I just looked at the jets - I don't see an adjustment. I have to try some real fluid, maybe it will have surface adhesion that is better than whatever came from the factory.

Our RX500h took an entire QUART of washer fluid when I topped it off, after delivery. But, I haven't used it since, as it hasn't rained.

Will report back, later.

I know that the Gen5 RX is really new, but has anyone suffered frozen washer sprayers in winter, either from cold ambient temps or external moisture freezing them?

Seriously, I think they are just putting water in it from the factory - the stuff in mine has no blue color, or any color. It's water (??). How could they do that, suppose these cars sit on lots until winter in the colder states? Anyway, I have to flush it out.

I use Nextzett Kristall Klar Washer Fluid concentrate but since it has no freeze protection, I want bother linking it. They do make an all weather version though. You can find them on Amazon.

I have been using the same for years, excellent product. Living in Fl I have no problem with freezing.

All I do is add about a tablespoon of Dawn dish soap into the gallon of windshield fluid and that works great for the past 25 plus years.

Default Quite disappointed

I also noticed the wipers do not do a good job of cleaning. They worked much better in rainy days. Maybe the factory fluid is not effective (instead of a design flaw). Will need to wait and see.

I added some Nextzett Kristall Klar Washer Fluid concentrate directly to my almost full washer fluid receptacle and it made a big difference. The factory juice is weak and ineffective.

For the price of our cars, hopefully it's high-end, pure mountain spring water.

I don't understand why anyone would spend money when you have the solution under your kitchen sink.

Don't dish detergents such as Dawn or Lestoil remove car wax? My wrist STILL smarts from my detailer friends scolding me!

Our cars have continued to bead water a LOT longer since we started using dedicated auto wash liquids.
