Been looking at fully loaded 2020 450HL, which MSRP at $66k on the dot. These are rarer so typically less discounts are offered from my research. Dealers in Chicago were willing to go down to $58,500 for their common place atomic silver and black interior.

Dealer in Cali with the only 2020 450HL midnight mica and birch interior in the US only went down to $60.4k (dealer discount plus Lexus cash. Not including taxes, and titling fees) Ended up going with them as their color combo was our fav.

I don’t know if I’d say the dealerships are slashing like crazy in my experience. Spoke to 4 dealerships and all but one had laid off a majority of their staff. This made it extremely hard to get the attention of a sales person.

They know that the factories are shut down. The demand might be down but so is the supply as well. There’s one final boat coming from Japan with a few 450HL units but after that, it’s only what’s on the lot. This means dealerships aren’t dropping prices as quickly. It could be months until they start producing again.

Nice, price. I remembered in 2017 when I got my 450h, I got 12% under msrp OTD price.
Still in love with that car. I got almost all the options like your. Only option missing and I want is HUD and 360 views for parking.

If you are very good negotiator, you can get any where from 12-14% under MSRP plus tax and DMV.
Best if you contact the dealer through their online sale department and using email to negotiate.
Once you walk in to the dealership, they have the upper hand.
Also watch out for after sale pitch, like extend warranty, extend maintenance etc..
Not saying you should not, but get few quotes for warranty and maintenance.
You can sometime get 50% off for each, minimum 30%.

I already lost some leverage as I was an out of state buyer and Lexus was fully aware that the 450HL is rare and that they had the only unit of this color combo. I’m sure I could have gone a little lower but since the dealerships have laid off most of their sales staff, the few that are left are extremely busy and I was worried the usual walk away game wouldn’t work as the other dealerships never got back to me.

Had to go out of state because custom order isn’t available with the factories shut down. Japan just started a week or so ago so they’re months behind us. They might not make anymore 2020 450HL and by the time they reopen might just switch to 2021 450HL.

Dude in Chicago told me they laid off 14 of their 15 salesmen. He was the only one left.

Our dealer has taken their sales people off commission for the time being, so when I bought mine this week they weren't terribly interested in making a deal (despite having 40+ RX350s in inventory and it being the end of the month).

We got our RX on 3/31. I didn't notice any aggressive discount, but they gave us enough of one and took our trade without even looking at it. Although all service history (every 5,000 miles) was done at their dealership, so they had a good idea what condition it was in.

If dealerships only have 1 salesman on staff, they're not going to go above and beyond to get your business.

I bought a new 2020 RX350 yesterday after having multiple dealers bid for the business the prior day. Was the net price affected by COVID-19? Hard to say, as I think dealer motivations change by the month, anyway, depending on where they stand getting back-end dollars and other factors. Here are the highlights of the deal, and then a few comments on the process:

MSRP: $56,155 (includes the $1,025 destination fee)
Doc Fee: $699 (includes the actual title/temp tag/registration fees, plus the dealer doc fee. I've never seen it done this way. I bought out of state, so needed a title and temp tag there,
plus title and registration in my state. I estimate the total of these fees to be ~$112, leaving a net dealer doc fee of ~$587. The dealer is handling the paperwork for both states.)

OTD Calculation
Dealer price: $49,913 (after discount price, but not including the $2,000 Lexus cash and $587 doc fee)
- Lexus Cash -$2,000 (rebate will be paid to the dealer, not to me)
+ Doc fee + $587 (estimated. see above comments)
Subtotal $48,500
+ Title/tags + $112 (estimated. see above comments)
+ Sales tax + $2995 (6% - if you do the math, you see I paid tax on the rebate, but not on the doc fee.)
OTD cost: $51,607

I calculated % off MSRP to compare bids, excluding sales tax and title/tags; 13.63% discount for this deal. [($56,155-$48,500)/$56,155 = 13.63%] Granted, this was for a fairly common color/package combination (Atomic Silver/Birch with Premium, Nav, BLIS with Pano View, 20" wheels, etc. See my post in the New Member sub-forum for details and a pic), but I'm very pleased with the deal and the RX. Clearly trying to buy a one-of-a-kind configuration would yield a lower discount.

The next best bid was at 11.11% off MSRP and most others in the 8.9%-9.8% range. Interestingly, a Lexus Plus dealer (no haggle pricing place) was only at 5.5% discount.

The dealer was pretty busy yesterday, despite having to do the delivery via their service bay because of COVID-19 restrictions. The showroom was still closed by statewide executive order. A couple of their people told me they had been laid off for weeks, only coming back to work a few days ago.

I leased a 2020 RX350 2 weeks ago.
MSRP $55K
SALE PRICE AFTER REBATE
$48K
12.7 % discount
My monthly lease cost is $474, plus tax, with 4K cash down.

BTW,
EVERY $1K down reduces the monthly payment by $30.00
So then $0K down results in $594 per month for this car.

ALSO the best multiplier I got from several dealers was $10.59 per thousand of MSRP.
What this means is to quickly calculate the monthly payment on a lease deal ,
multiply the MSRP by $10.59.

I didn't quite get that good a deal on this car because it had everything I wanted on it.
I ended up paying $8 a month more.
Another dealer offered me that multiplier on another car that I passed up.

LEXUS just announced an additional $1500 lease cash so I may have gotten a better deal if I had waited 2 weeks.

got offer for 2020 RX350 lease36mos/10k(mileage)
waive 6 months of current nx lease
2020 Lexus RX-350 (premium package, no-navigation) - MSRP $51,325

> $0 down + inception fees

> 10,000 miles per year

> $498/mo. (inclusive of CT sales tax)

The residual is 56% and the money factor is 0.00005
the inception fees are $795 bank acquisition, $795 dealer conveyance, $275 DMV (you can keep your current plates) + 1'st month.

how does this look?

There's some more information you need to know.
What's the cash amount due at signing?
Are they allowing you to terminate your NX lease early?

I would say that's a good deal as it is.
Especially since they're taking back your NX with no penalty.

I just looked at my contract. I didn't pay the bank acquisition fee. It was $795 just like yours. It was wrapped into the lease .
I didn't pay the DMV fee either, they paid it.
They also paid the first months lease payment.
I couldn't find the Dealer Conveyance fee anywhere in my contract. That may be a Connecticut thing, or maybe a contrived add on.
It looks like they're asking you to pay $1885 cash down instead of $0 down.

Anyway it's a slightly better deal than I got, even with the $1885 cash down.
You'll love the RX. It's a pleasure to drive.

BTW
Lexus just announced an additional $1500 lease cash.
I think that is worth an additional $45 per month reduction in your monthly payment.

The fee is a CT thing (not unique to CT however) but the amount is a dealer thing. They will tell you that everyone (buying from that dealership) pays that amount, but that is way too high and purely set by the dealer...pure profit added on to the price of the vehicle. Tell them to reduce the price of the car by $300 and keep the fee at what it is, or just realize that it is the price we pay for playing their game.
