It moves around the circle above the gear indicator.

Seems like you might have dropped a pin/location marker in the Navi, and the compass is pointing you to the direction of that marker.

If that's the case how do you get rid of the pin? Not sure that's what I did because it has been there for over a week and I don't use that car all the time.

It's been a while, but have you checked to make sure you have not paused a route guidance, or somehow added a location to your Navigation favorites?

When I saw this threat I tried to figure out what this indicator is, and here's what I found so far. The little orange/red circle in the compass display is linked to a destination that you are navigating to in the nav system. It shows where your destination is relative to your direction of travel and it goes away when you arrive at your destination. In my opinion its cute but fairly useless although it's interesting to watch.

Never noticed this but will have to pay attention next time I have a destination set. Don't normally have the screen displayed in the center anyways but worth looking.

Problem solved then. Just drive there to get rid of it. Likely the easiest way!!

Or DELETE DESTINATION will do it as well.
