My new 2021 base model was delivered today. It’s loaded with the luxury package with everything imaginable…except the rear hatch does not have the kick sensor. The dealer claimed that the tow package option meant it doesn’t come with a kick sensor. In a way that makes sense, since the sensor would be right over the receiver…but does anybody have any experience to the contrary?

 

It's one or the other. Not both.

 

I have a 2020 FSport 3, here in Canada it's the top line model (pre-hybrid). Just installed a Curt hitch receiver. The wiring is there for the plug, which I haven't installed as I just want to use the hitch receiver for our bike rack. The hitch fit fine and the kick sensor works, so I don't understand what Lexus is on about. Did have to remove the active damper. It's now replaced with a passive damper (LOL).
