Hello I'm in Houston and will be looking at 2019 F sport with ultra white and rioja red interior. The dealer doesn't have one with ML sound so it looks like I'll have to special order. how big of a discount can I get if I special order the car?

New member here. I received a quote on a 2019 450h premium package, navigation, folding mirrors with the 20” wheels. MSRP is $56k and the negotiated price so far is $48.2k before the $1k rebate and TTL. Is this a decent deal? Thanks.

Instead of answering your question directly I'll try to share my experience with buying and trading in my Lexus cars over the last 5 years in Seattle area:
1) It is relatively easy to get a deal for a new car as

INVOICE price (dealer paid for the car) + $500 - Lexus customer cash

i.e. for a similar rx450h in my zip code I get:

MSPR: $56070
Invoice: $52597
Incentives: customer cash $1000

Ask dealer to beat the price: $52597 + $500 (dealer profit) - $1000 (rebate from Lexus) = $53097

use multiple dealers to compete and beat each other’s price.

16%+ off MRSP seems to be a great deal, check this thread:
https://forums.edmunds.com/discussio...-and-prices/p9

Lexus could reward the dealer directly for each new sale and the dealer might be willing to share their profit with you.

Use Edmund's True Market Value or TMV (https://www.edmunds.com/tmv.html) to find your car's invoice price with all options, install Edmunds app to always have a pocket reference

2) Dealers often make more money on trade-in cars, loans, accessories, extras that you might not need than the new car, always check your deal as a whole transaction

3) If you have a trade-in negotiate the price before negotiating the price of the new car, use Edmunds, KBB websites to get the fair price. Please note that this fair price is usually an auction price the dealer will sell your car next day for a profit. If you own a Lexus that is in demand in your area and trade it in to a Lexus dealer they will sell it for a bigger profit after some repaires and reconditioning from their own lot, insist on higher price and let 2 dealerships bid for your car. Any new car can be sold by any dealership (not true for used cars)

4) Don't mix test drive and negotiations - do test drive in-person and negotiate via email with 2-3 dealerships around your area

5) negotiate documentation fee - these $150 can be just $50

6) don't sign the docs until you've negotiated new car price, trade-in, finance (have another option from your bank/CU ready) - you can do it via emails

7) go to dealership to sign the documents and stick to the price - leave all that extended warranty/protection/etc for later

Invest ~$10 in a ConsumerReport issue on buying used or new cars and save yourself hundreds or thousands.

Happy negotiations!

Alex

pretty solid deal. Just reach out to several dealers and see if anyone can beat it. I usually keep going until everyone tells me I should take the deal.

Hi what options do you have on the F sport? what was the original msrp? The ones I'm looking at are around 60k. Just wondering how much discount I can get. Thanks

Ok I got a final quote from Sterling Mcall Houston. F sport 4x4, panoramic view/bind spot park assist, panoramic roof, nav, triple beam led.Msrp is $59884. Discounted to $52895. Total OTD $56,665. Is this a good price for Houston area? This already included $1000 cash rebate since I'm not doing financing..... Thanks

That's a pretty solid deal. I'm in Houston area as well and been looking real hard for a 450h Fsport. MSRP is 61219, best offer I got is 54000, which is roughly 12% off MSRP. I believe your quote also calculate out to be 12% off MSRP. For some reason, I don't really like Sterling Mccall. They play the typical sale game of making you wait and wait and BS.

I am brand new here and is looking to upgrade from our 2006 Highlander we have owned since new. The car has 225K miles on the odometer and it is the most reliable care we have ever owned by far. We are interested in a new RX 350 but will also look at the new Highlanders for comparative purposes. Our local dealer is advertising 1.9% APR on the 2019's and have also seen 0% on the 2018 leftovers if you can find one that fits your needs. They seem to be scarce in New England. I don't know if these finance incentives are regional and if so, what regions are affected.
Anyway, my question here is what % discount off MSRP are we seeing in New England these days that would be considered a good deal. If I begin negotiating with a dealer, I would like to know what is going on in my region before I begin. Thanks.

According to Edmunds, standard is 2% for all Lexus models.

I also went went through a thread on leasehackr on investing and saving for the future following your posts.
Can I get a link to that post you learned a lot from?

Default recommend dealer/sales for leasing in OC

Hi all
I'm looking to lease a RX 350 F-sport or 450h sport. Any reason to choose one over the other?
Also, can anyone recommend a good dealer/sales in orange county for a minimal hassle/negotiation leasing process
thanks!
