I was hoping someone could explain how this works. I will check the manual.
If it works like my 2019 - as soon as you shut the car off, press up on the wiper arm like you do when you want them to swipe once but hold it for a few seconds, then release. The arms should raise up and stay. If I remember correctly, when you re-start the car you have to tap the wiper arm again and they'll return to the normal position.
Edit - Quantum501 must've posted while I was typing because their reply was there when I looked.

You don't replace them. You will have to purchase a whole new unit. No one in their right mind loses two stainless steel strips out of nowhere.
I am sure there is more to the story.
You might try a third party like here:
thx for the info , i put them in when replacing the blade inserts and now the other day the wiper was squeaking so i checked the wipers and the metal strips are gone?
I redid my rear wiper about a month ago and everything is working just fine. Not exactly an engineering challenge. For anyone who might have forgotten about the rear wiper I would suggest replace it once every 5 years whether you use it or not. My part number was 85214-0E050
If the part is installed correctly, there should not be any issues.
Just a whole lot easier for me to go to AUTOZONE when I need them and have them installed and I’m out in 10-15 mins. Do they cost more? Based on the aggravation they save me, no. I save my DIY for my toy.
I made a dumb mistake i left the rain sensing feature on while in the car wash ,i struggled to shut off the Rain sensing too late i was at the end of car wash. Hopefully i didn't damaged the blades.

You must have done something to break them. Just go to COSTCO and get a new set Who would ever take the assembly apart?
The whole thing gets disassembled when replacing the rubber insert. I purchased the part from a Lexus dealer for $11.00, We are only talking about a piece of rubber here and nothing else. There is a youtube somewhere that shows how to properly place the 2 stainless steel strips when installing. This applies to my 2017 RX, yours could be different. I hope this clears up any confusion between replacing the rubber insert and the entire wiper assembly.
My intention was to replace only the rubber piece since that is the only part that gets worn out. And it will go bad even if you never use it.

Obviously it is easier and faster to just buy the whole assembly. They are very cheap
