The lifespan of the ICONS I own have already exceeded that of your wiper inserts at the present time. In addition, many forum members have documented a lifespan of wiper inserts that is far less than what you have experienced. You are very likely the exception, not the rule.

It depends on the climate where you live, is the car garaged, how often do you use the wipers, do you ever clean them, etc. etc. Too many variables to make an absolute judgement. I use PIAA but that's just my preference.

You asked for user feedback and I provided my experience.....apparently you wanted others to validate your experience...or as I said, my wiper standards are too low.

My inserts cost me about $10, so I figure $30 every few years for something that I don't notice is pretty good deal.

I love Project Farm btw, but even he says for normal levels of rainfall it does not really matter. How about a debate about wiper fluid?

As usual, everyone should use what works for them. I have had no issues using OEM for any of the work that I do on my RX....good enough for Lexus, good enough for me I guess.

Did you know that you can refill icons with generic wiper inserts cut to length from amazon, for like $10.
You just have to match the rib width and style, I measured the icons with a caliper and ordered silicone inserts the same dimensions.

The original icons last some number of years, 4 sounds about right, but the replacement inserts from amazon seem to last about as long.

Basically, you carefully get the endcap off. Designed to not be removed but a little care with a small tool will see it off and staying back on.

The rest of the wiper blade assembly gets faded but can be restored with choice of trim restorers.

I have 10 year old icons on my es350 on their second set of amazon refills, and they work just like when they were new.

PIAA wiper blades stay the most flexible in winter and haven't had them stick to the glass where I couldn't get them off with a gentle lift.
