Beat-sonic CarPlay solution
Attempting to install Beat-Sonic on my 2019 RX. The instructions sent with the kit do not match but I was able to determine where the newer cables were substituted. The problem I am having now is when I use dip switch settings 1,7 to fill the 12.3 screen the screen flickers. When I change the dip switches to 1,6 the flickering stops but it stops using the entire screen. Anyone get the kit to fill the entire screen with 5 icons on each row without flickering?
In my case the dip switch settings 1, and 6 were able to give me the entire screen display with 2 x 5 icons. Restarting your vehicle might reboot the Beatsonic device and address your issue. Best!
Ive had screen mirroring from beatsonic, and have been semi-active in this thread. The resolution is impossible to deal with on that option. Theres no fix. There are no good options without more work than necessary. Even if you can get carplay android to work, future apple updates always come out could brick the thing. I personally have given up. I am not going to sink more money for a substandard experience.I'll wait till i trade in for a 2020 or 21 lexus with carplay at this point.
Here is my experience so far.
Benefits:
1. Add Apple Carplay to 2017 RX350 for navigation apps such as Waze, Google maps; which at times surpass Lexus Navigation. Also i do not need to hold my phone to get these functionalities. Also i do not need to trade my other wise perfectly fine car. Maybe i ll step up to Gen 5, rather than a mid cycle refresh vehicle.
Cons
1. Relatively low res, and a bit of stretching.
2. The Apple Carplay interface is best suited for "touch" rather than a mouse. The Lexus mouse still tends to over shoot (which is a problem with native interface).
3. Once the unit is installed, it can either be set for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. not both.
I feel the above mentioned benefits outweigh the above mentioned cons.
My biggest Con so far has been the installation process. The installer took way too long, and did a very poor job, and cause un-necessary problems with other parts of the car. Erik from Beatsonic tried his best to get them to correct this issue, but the installer did not work with him either. Now Lexus dealer was able to fix the issue but i have a huge bill from Lexus. Still trying to work with the Installer to get it right. My 2 cents choose your installer wisely.

I purchased the Beatsonic CarPlay module for the 2019 RX 350 and had it installed. It works great but does anyone know how to show a full screen on the unit? It only shows a partial screen when CarPlay is activated.
Thanks,

Hopefully in the next few years Lexus will focus on improving their infotainment systems. That is one department where they definitely seem to lack. If they implemented full support for CarPlay across their lines with a easy to use menu navigator, that would be greatly praised.
I gave up and installed this https://youtu.be/akdzmgMqWGM
I have had the same with wireless screen beam on the shelf for way too long uninstalled. guess i should add that to my projects list. thanks for the reminder

But once its installed, the thing is amazing. Granted the resolution isn't perfect but it works and works well.
I've been watching the Euro 2020 while waiting on people on the car and its awesome.
Same issue here. I have used dip switch “1” as indicated in the manual and also “1” and “6” but as you can see it is not working on the full screen.
