Hello,
When activating the wipers from their resting position, the right side wiper appears to stick for a few short seconds then after making a loud noise, it wipes.
If the wipers are in intermittent mode, every time they start wiping again, the right side makes a loud noise and then wipes. As long as the wipers are not in their resting position, they wipe quietly like they are supposed to work.
The wiper motor and arms operate correctly and are strong and tight.
Try cleaning the blade with rubbing alcohol then wipe it down with some type of rubber treatment. Most any rubber/vinyl spray will work. Some spray waxes will also work but others actually make rubber stick to glass (personal experience).
Here's the video. I noticed that the wiper was catching a rubber part on the windshield. I tucked away that part and the wiper worked fine for a few hours. Then that rubber part popped out again and was blocking the wiper blade. You can view on slow motion how the wiper blade is bent before relaxing, like a bow.
Maybe I need to glue that rubber thing on the glass away from the wiper. It's seems to be a part of the trim on the windshield glass.
I was unable to fix the issue myself so I took the car to the dealer. The tech noted that the right wiper arm mechanism does not adjust left or right. There was no choice but to replace the complete assembly: $614 dollars later the wipers now work well, no noise, smooth action.
Looks to me that the wiper blade is too long. Did you check to see if they were switched?
Wipers were the correct length and type. I'm not sure what happened. I just bought this car last month and I know it used to be in the Chicago area. Maybe snow and ice were built up and the wiper arm was bent by the weight.
