Whenever I have my wipers on the fastest position, every time they return to the hood area, or all the way to the right if you're sitting in the car, there is a knock as if they are hitting something. No noise is heard when the wipers are run at any other speed. What could this be?

It sounds like the wiper arms should be adjusted; there has to be an interference somewhere. I had a similar problem and with a mechanic's adjustment it was cured very quickly and very inexpensively; what a huge difference it made.
