Default Noise

I made a post a few days ago asking about dash cams and got a fitcam based on several recommendations. My newest issue is that this car, a 2019 RX with Luxury package. Based on my previous car, a 2016 ES with luxury package I would have expected this car to be as quiet.

I know someone will say I should have test driven it. I did, but was most concerned about the seats since I have back issues and wanted to make sure this car would work for me.

I read through the huge post on here regarding the exhaust and vibration. I already plan to order the weight to attack to the exhaust pipe.

Is there anything else I can do to queit this car down so it resembles a "Lexus"? I have verified that my car does not have the f sport resonator. It's my only recourse using mlv and dynamat like tiles in the trunk and fits? At cruis this car is fine. It's just during acceleration where there is noise. Even my 20 had old daughter noticed and even commented how loud this car is.

Any suggestions?

My wifes 22 RX-350 is quiet, your's should be too. An exhaust leak? Are the mufflers stock or did someone change them?

Wife's car was a ES350 and was very quiet, now it's a '22 RX350 Lux or Premium. and we cannot tell any difference in the quietness between the two. I might be able to hear the engine a bit more in the RX than the ES when passing on a 2 lane road, but that is the only thing I can think of in terms of sound deadening. Both are/were the V6 engine. I can hear both engines when in the drive thru with the window down, but not when windows are closed. I have never heard any "exhaust noise" from a Lexus.

I don't know if the muffler was changed since this is a used car I bought a few weeks ago. Frustrating since the noise is only noticeable on acceleration. It's fine at cruising speed or idling.

I know a few that have these cars and ask to drive their cars for a bit to do a comparison.

That is a possibility. They already posted awareness of that and plan to order the weight. However I think they refer to a low speed noise when putting it in drive. But the snow on their driveway masks all other noises.
It is discussed in this thread link which has the fix: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ing-sound.html

I am the OP. Not sure if the problem is the infamous drone or not. I am ordering those weights and will give it a try.

Check if your mufflers are stock or mod.

What do I look for to tell if the mufflers are stock?

I have mostly similar observations. We have a 2019 ES Luxury and a 2021 RX 450h Base+premium. To my ears, I would be hard pressed to tell any difference in sound between the two, with one difference. As a hybrid, I can tell when the gas engine kicks in on the RX (slight drone), but I cannot tell on the ES. Rolling down the road at highway speeds - hard to tell a difference.

I climbed under my car and looked at the muffler and it shows the letters

That looks stock to me. I think at this point, I will test drive a few other RX's locally and see if those are just as loud as my car. If not, then I know the problem is with this car and will have an exhaust shop re-torque everything and check for an exhaust leak.

Yes, I also think that is stock:

If it's just an exhaust leak that will be bueno - because the muffler alone is $600. Fixing an exhaust leak will probably be relatively inexpensive.

Let us know.
Good luck.

Sounds like the droning that a lot of RX350 have. Just try your best with the weight and adjust until you find it reduced. It won’t be 100% eliminated. I went through a whole ordeal with the exhaust and just learned to live with it.
