I am working on my 2015 Lexus RX 350 that received some light front end damage that cracked the front headlights, long story short, I have replace the headlights with some aftermarket "OEM Style" headlights ( yes, these are HID housings (not halogen) they look exactly like the OE spec, but do not have the leveling system. Understanding that the new lights do not have the leveling system and honestly I didn't care enough to have swiveling headlights to pay the 4 figure price difference, I am looking for a way to turn off or disable the leveling system so that I no longer receive the "Check Headlight Leveling System" warning on my dash.

I've tried searching but haven't found anything. This is not the AFS light in the lower left of the cluster that I think 2010-2012 RX's have. This message shows in the center cluster message area. I don't think that the 13-15s have the fuse trick of removed the AFS fuse that works for this. If anyone is aware of a fuse you can remove on a 13-15 to turn off this error please let me know where the fuse is located.

If anyone has suggestions on how make this error go away, please let me know.

The solution was to only use OEM headlights if you want the error message to go away. There was no solution that involved keeping the aftermarket headlights. It is probably unable to be resolved if you keep those headlights. If you drive a Lexus sometimes you have to pay more for repair of its unique OEM features.

 

I can't get rid of the headlight level check of the dash. I replaced the sensor and erased the code and cleared the dash but still remains. Any suggestions?

 

Not trying to nitpick but there is more than one sensor [sensor vs sensors]. To confirm which sensor [or its wiring] is bad, the inputs to the controller must be read. Then the leveling motor in each headlight assembly should be working.

I replaced the sensor by the rear passenger axle.

 

To state and repeat the obvious: One of the headlight leveling motors has probably failed or one of the front sensors.
A check on eBay finds used motors for $25 but they also list a front leveling sensor for each side and they are more expensive.
