HI all -
New member - love the board - lots of great info and posters who know this vehicle very well from what I have been able to read up to this point.
Hoping you all can help with a quick question on the TPMS on my RX 2013.
I have an opportunity to buy a set of rims off a 2017 RX with winter tires mounted and will also include the TP monitoring system.
The offset is off my 5mm (30mm vs the factory 35mm on the 2013 factory 18" wheels) - from what have read, this gap is OK and won't impact the look, safety / handling.
Also, from what I have read, the 2017 TPMS is not the same part as the 2013 - Does anyone know if the 2017 will work with the 2013 system?
Thanks everyone - looking forward to reading and participating.
Any tire store can answer that question, or parts store, maybe even RockAuto or TireRack. It may be the same part with a new number, or just a mild update, or it may be backward compatible. Go to RockAuto or TireRack maybe and look them up for the 2017 and then 2013 model year and see if the same parts are listed.

Thanks for the reply and advice - I'll check it out!
If compatible, which they probably are even if a different part no., you will need a tire store to program their TPMS to your car. It only takes 10 - 15 minutes. Call around as prices vary a lot.
I think Toyota/Lexus uses a fairly common type of TMPS sender, although I'm not 100% certain my guess is that they very likely are program compatible from one model to the next. If you like to do your own tire swaps and don't want to spend the time to get someone to reprogram the TPMS system for you there are several moderately priced tools to do it yourself. I have an Autel TS501 that is kind of handy, it wirelessly nudges each TPMS sensor to immediately broadcast its code and battery charge level which the unit captures, then I plug it into the ODBII port and program the vehicle, whole process takes < 5 minutes, works on most cars.
