Default How much does a TPMS weigh?

Anyone with a postal scale willling to give me a weight?

I got a set of factory balanced near new wheels with TPMS removed and want to be sure on balance difference with replacement dumb valve stem. Tires were only pushed back on one edge to exact TPMS so balance should be preserved otherwise.

Thanks

G

What are you going to do with the TMPS warning light?

I was thinking the same thing. They can replace the TPMS for you at the dealership or any discount tire location

Nothing. I have an earlier model without the system.

I don't know if you will find anybody with a loose TMPS sensor laying around. Are you trying just to save money by not re-balancing the wheels after removing the sensors?

Based on posts and pictures there seems to be quite few folks with time on their hands to put them in the glove box in hyperbaric chambers and other assorted rubber band contraptions.

I just need a weight.

I do know exactly what I am doing and why.

Yes that would be the same secret mentioned in the first post.

Good idea, I will stop by my local dealer.

Thanks - looked promissing until I found every single sensor of the hundreds they sell large and small is exactly the same weight of 1.8 oz!

Anyway 30g near the valve stem results in perfect balance.

Give it a shot. Even a slightest imbalance will give you a vibration, so you'll know.
