Default Brake Pad Recommendation

Looking for a recommendation...80k going to replace pads front & rear (55k from stock pads) on 2012 RX AWD.

Stock pads are fine, but the brake dust is insane.

Any recommendations for quality aftermarket pads with great performance but less brake dust?

I usually stick with OE pads, but the dust they create is insane.

Thank you in advance, folks.

I like Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads. I have run them on my wife's Jaguar and my Ram for many years. When my Subaru and her Lexus need new brake pads, I will install them on both of these vehicles as well. Solid braking performance, no noise, and very little brake dust.

I've had good results and low dust with Akebono ProACT pads and Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramics. Currently running them on my RX300 and 350

If you are getting a lot of dust then the pads that are on the car now are not likely OEM. I have had all three version of the RX and none of them had dust issues from the factory. This also includes an SC and an ES. I have used both OEM pads and Akebono on all my Lexus cars. It is my understanding that Akebono makes most of the Lexus OEM pads.

They are OEM pads-I bought them directly from a Lexus dealer and installed. They stop fine, but they just build up a lot of dust.

Side note: Front pads are ok, rears are low; anyone else experience this? Usually had front pads wear faster than rears. Replacing before they get too low. I'll replace all the way around as I did before since I'm doing one set anyway.

The rear pads have always worn out faster on my RX. It is the nature of the beast. I have the Raybestos Element 3 pads and liked them so much I put them on 2 other vehicles. https://www.toyotanation.com/forum/8...-element3.html

Every Lexus I have has had ceramic pads all around and ceramics do not generate dust. I have had 5 Lexus cars and none have had pads that generate dust. This is with "from the factory" pads. Just because you got them from a dealer does not mean it is what came on the car from the factory. The last pads I got from a dealer were for my 06 SC. I switched to Akebono since. No real difference, just easier to get from Amazon.

I've been using Akebono pads on all my cars since the late '90s and see no reason to change.
