Default Passenger side mirror won't hold its setting

Every time I engage the starter the passenger side mirror rotates to the far right. I then must adjust the setting by using the controls. When I place the vehicle in reverse, the mirror does tilt (as expected). I've re-set the setting numerous times, but to no avail. Any ideas to take care of this problem?

Just to rule out the possibility that there could be an issue with he setting process ..

Use other set position and set the 'working' mirror at an odd angle and then store that setting. Manually change the 'working' mirror and then recall setting to confirm the working mirror goes to the odd setting.

Once the above verifies that the 'working' mirror can be reprogrammed and the offending mirror is the only problematic one ,,, you will have to check the wiring or replace the mirror with its sensors/motors etc. A tech may be able to narrow down the problem to an internal component, but usually the tech's labor will be more than the unit price and the failure may happen again [you may not be able to source the failing part too].

Have you switched keys recently? The keys can be programmed to a certain memory position. So, it's possible that it is recalling a memory position that you had used before on this key.

I haven't changed the keys to this vehicle. However, I'll look into the matter. Thanks for the suggestion.
