I had the same issue. Turned out to be the little motor actuator inside the mirror. Mine was replaced under warranty as I only had about 20,000 miles on the car at the time of failure. It's probably not that hard to replace. Bob

Hello, you may try this, sometimes the mirror will stick and not move, try to move slowly the mirror itself by pressing on the corners, myself I used some lubricant and sprayed the sides from inside behind the mirror, also you will see a rounded struture in the middle of the mirror spray it and keep moving the mirror manualy, there is a small hole at the buttom of the housing itself through which the extra lubricant will escape put a clth to capture it and try the button from inside.

I took it to the dealer and I have to replace the mirror unfortunately. The clips that hold the mirror in the correct position are broken.
