I would get strut bearings for the front of a 2010-2013 Highlander. Should be cheaper and will be same part. You can get the bolts from Toyota too from a 2014-2019 Highlander.

PN:

48508-0E010 - Right side lower shock bracket (Only needs to be replaced if shock is seized)
48507-0E010 - Left side lower shock bracket (Only needs to be replaced if shock is seized)
91672-L1275 (x2) - Shock absorber lower bolts
91552-L1260 (x2) - Shock absorber upper bolts
90178-12009 (x2) - Shock absorber lower nuts

You should have new front sway bar links with you doing this project as it is likely your old ones will be rusted on and need to be cut off. The Allen screw bolt usually strips out during the attempt and it is time to get out the portable grinding wheel. Look for an aftermarket brand that does not use the Allen head bolts design. There are many available.

Always begin by spraying all the bolts with PB Blaster a few days before the project to help loosen the rusted nuts and bolts.

The new struts will have a new main upper nut and you re-use the 3 smaller ones that bolt the mount to the car body.

I already have 3 of the B6’s that I bought from Rockauto but I’m still waiting on that front passenger Bilstein! I have orders in with Shockwarehouse, and Autoplicity waiting to see on who ships first (direct from Bilstein) so I can cancel the other order.

I haven’t visited Lexus yet but am I going OD on parts replacement? I was planning on buying for the rears the bolts/nuts. And for the fronts I was going to order

(2) Stabilizer Link - (48820-06040)
(2) Strut Mount - (48609-0E050)
(2) Strut Bumper - (48331-0E020)

I might be getting a little confused. Up front is it the strut bearing or the strut mount or both that should be replaced?

thank you guys!!

I have all the Bilsteins, just waiting for some time to install them as I’ve been undertaking a valve cover gasket change on my Highlander. I just finished yesterday so I’ve finally got some time.

There are no upper nuts for the rear shocks as the bolts thread into the bracket itself. As Clutchless said, I would grab new front sway bar end links as well. I almost always end up having to cut them off or have to put vice grips behind it to lock it in place as I unscrew the rusted-on nut. It’s nice to have a spare set just in case, as your project won’t be slowed down. Even if you don’t end up needing them, you will likely need to change them eventually. These can also be sourced from the Toyota Highlander.

I believe strut bearing & strut mount are interchangeable terms. The strut mount has ball bearings on the inside to allow rotation of the strut. If you want to replace the upper and lower strut isolators, you can do this too. Those are the little rubber pucks that the spring sits on. You can grab those from the 2010-2013 Highlander as well. Make sure you get left and right ones specifically, as our generation of RX is the only one to have ones that are directional (this also applies to the 2010-2013 Highlander). Our rear suspension is shared with the 2014-2019 Highlander in the rear. No strut mounts / bearings / isolators in the rear as it is just a simple shock absorber.

You will not need new strut mounts or bumpers. Save your money. They rarely wear out.
You should only replace the strut mount bearings. They are about $25 each I think. I got OEM Toyota ones on eBay. You just lift out the old one from the strut mount and replace it with the new bearing. Make sure you have the correct side facing up! Don't ask me for the part number. Look it up yourself or just search for the correct year (2010 - 2015) RX350 strut mount bearings or 2012 HIghlander front strut mount bearings on eBay. The same ones are used on most of the Toyota & Lexus models within that year range.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did not know it was possible to change just the bearings separate from the mount! I will be doing that instead.

Bilstein B6 series are equivalent to the F-Sport shocks and struts for those who want improved handling with a slightly stiffer ride. I have them on my RX and it rides better than the F Sport rear shocks I had before and no worse than the original ones.
However if you just want a good ride, get the B4 series. Rock Auto has them as does Shock Warehouse and maybe Tire Rack. Look them up under 2015 Toyota Highlander with the 3.5 engine.

B4: Front Left: 22282835, Front Right: 22282842, Rear: 19282862

B6: Front Left 22282873, Front Right: 22282880, Rear: 24282901

Replace the strut mount bearings at the same time. Get OEM if you can, they are built better. I think 2 will cost under $50.
They are on top and it only takes a few seconds to swap the bearings once the strut is off the spring.
As discussed above have a new set of front sway bar links available as you will probably have to cut off your old rusted ones.

However, if you want a better ride than the KYBs get the Bilsteins that are listed for the 2010-2013 Highlander. The B4 model is the same as your OEM. Part numbers 22282675 and 22282668
If you decide to replace the rear shocks with Bilsteins, you want the ones listed for the 2014 Highlander as it has the same rear suspension with shocks as the RX. The 2010-13 Highlander is different in that it has struts in the back.
Part No. Bilstein 19-282862

sorry im confused, there were two different front strut model #s posted for the b4, i have a 2010 rx350

Go with the parts numbers for the 2010-2013 Highlander as in the second quoted paragraph above. I will edit my initial post.
Initially I thought the front struts for the 2014 Highlander would fit, but they are different as the front suspension was redesigned

That is when we figured out the 2010-2013 Highlander front struts are the same as on the 2010-2015 RX350 & RX450h.

However the rear suspension of the 2014+ Highlander is the same as the 2010-2015 RX350.

Maybe you should make a sticky for just struts and shocks with the exact part numbers for the 3 RX. Apologies in advance of there's already one.

So did I order the wrong parts? I used the information above but seems like the front struts I ordered are from a 2014 and up Highlander which has different part numbers than the 2010-2013 Highlander, please verify my parts are wrong.

2013 Toyota Highlander AWD
22282729 BILSTEIN B6 Front Left
22282736 BILSTEIN B6 Front Right

2014 Toyota Highlander AWD
24282901 BILSTEIN B6 Rear Qty (2)

This is my shopping list for my 2010 RX350

Struts
22282873 BILSTEIN B6 Front Left
22282880 BILSTEIN B6 Front Right
24282901 BILSTEIN B6 REAR Qty (2)

90903-63014 Qty (2) Strut Bearing
48820-06040 Qty (2) Stabilizer Link
91672-L1275 Qty (2) - Shock absorber lower bolts
90178-12009 Qty (2) - Shock absorber lower nuts
91552-L1260 Qty (2) - Shock absorber upper bolts

As explained earlier you want the front Bilstein struts for the 2010-13 Highlander and those are the following parts numbers for the B6

2013 Toyota Highlander
22282729 BILSTEIN B6 Front Left
22282736 BILSTEIN B6 Front Right

You want the rear shocks that fit the 2014+ Highlander as it adopted the rear suspension from the 2010-15 RX.
24282901 BILSTEIN B6 REAR Qty (2)

The other B6 Bilstein front struts parts numbers listed are incorrect for the RX as they are for the 2014+ Highlander. Read the posts carefully, then double-check fitment on the site used to purchase them.

THE FOLLOWING PARTS NUMBERS WILL NOT FIT THE 2010-2015 RX:
22282873 BILSTEIN B6 Front Left
22282880 BILSTEIN B6 Front Right

The strut bearing, stabilizer link, and bolts you listed will fit. However, I think there are better aftermarket sway bar or stabilizer bar links that have bolt heads instead of the Allen head bolt that strips out when you later try to remove it. There are many to choose from on Rock Auto or elsewhere.
