Rx350 2012 rattling noise
I have purchased an RX 350 2012 and I hear a rattling noise when the roads get bumpy. If I go slow over speed breakers I don't hear that noise. How do I resolve this issue?
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
I crawled under my RX and smoked couple of plastic shells and discovered small pebbles in there.

I have narrowed down the noise.it's coming from the center seat from the back. And I noticed the seat is lose at the seating area. When I go over 40 k and go over pot holes it shatters and makes a huge shattering noise.
what can I tell the dealer to convince him to fix the issue?
As per the dealer its a common phenomenon.

Rattling car is common phenomenon? That is a BS.

Since you have found the source it should be a simple matter of tightening it down. If there are broken components, there may be a situation as to who caused it (manufacturers defect or owners negligence) ,,, but that should not interfere with fixing it.
If dealer claims it is a common phenomena (which is BS), then they should know how to locate and cure it.

There are 2 problems with rattles ,,, finding the source and the owners level of happiness.

Rattle will ensue when two parts are not held together.
Check why the clamping action is not there.
If they are supposed to be friction fit (snapped together/squeezed together) then think about adding something in between ... rubber-inner-tube is the best thing. [Tip if the head of screw is won off, put a piece of inner tube between the screw drive and the worn out head]
Post a pic and we can suggest remedy.

My 2010 RX350 had significant rattle in "rear". I found the clips that hold the rear luggage area cover to the back of the rear seat to be the problem. A small piece of velcro in each of the four clips stopped it. Seven years later, still no rattle.
