We recently purchased an RX 330... and like the car very much, but... I've noticed a very present "WHINNING" noise during deceleration between 50 mph and 40 mph

The dealer said this is an issue with all RX's... I don't remember hearing this noise during test drives or when we've had a loaner 330.

Anyone else notice this noise??

My 330 is silent.

 

I had a RX330 loaner car for a week and I heard all kinds of noise in it. There is a flapping noise coming from under the driver seat. The transmission makes a 'thump' noise when the vehicle slows down. The transimission seems not able to make up its mind when shifting. I had high hopes about the RX330 because I might get the Hybrid RX next year. But after 1 week with the loaner car, I am not sure about its quality. Actually, I get the impression that the overall quality for new Lexus vehicles is not as good as before IMO. My 98 LS400 has fewer problems than my partner's 02 LS430. I hope this is just a fluke.

 

I have the same noise after the major service. It occurs only between 70 to 80 km. I hear it all the time, just try to avoid drive at that speed.

I have made an appointment on Tuesday to check it out.
