RX450 alarm sensitivity adjust!
Hi!
Car is a 2010 Lexus RX450h. Broblem:
My wife has a parking garage near local train station --> alarm "alarms" (brobably due vibration) when big trains go by.... OR there are also other lexus cars in parking garage, maybe alarm thinks that it`s being "hacked"?
So, do anyone know, is there a possibility to adjust sensor sensitivity? Lexus dealer had no clue about the matter...

There is no shock sensor from the factory. There was an option for a glass-breakage sensor, which listens for noise similar to glass shattering.
It is possible an aftermarket unit was added to your vehicle.

I`m sure that there is no aftermarket unit on car... i have to keep searching (it never alarm randomly at home)

I highly doubt there is any way to adjust the sensitivity of a vibration sensor, practically speaking. I am sure there are sensors made which can be adjusted, and that high-end aftermarket units probably include that feature. However, even if you had that, given the large disparity between the potential parking vibrations at home and work for your wife, to "settle down" the sensors at work could potentially make them completely ineffective in milder environments. Perhaps she can try parking closer to structural corners or structural columns inside the parking garage, and perhaps on the side opposite where the train tracks are... that could mitigate some of the vibration and resolve the issue for her, even if she has to walk just a little further.

No, I don't play soccer!
In the US, there's supposed to be a sticker on the driver side window if equipped with glass breakage sensor. Installation involved removing the glove compartment. For my '10 450h that was done in port. I believe there is a way to adjust sensitivity. But as Pete said, you risk losing the reason for having GBS in the first place. It's triggered by sound. Good luck trying to find a solution.

Mysterious broblem solved, i just post it here if someone got same broblems... Car got a DEFA block heater and interior heater installed due cold temperatures at winter.
Ok, when at home, i have a timer clock.. heating the car ~1-3h before driving on winter. No broblems.
But when at work, there`s a timer clock on the parking garage that cuts the power on/off depending the outside temperature, about ½ - 1h at the time.
So, about ~3rd cycle, when heating stops, the alarm goes on! I confirmed this at home setting timer cutting power on/off on ½h cycles.
There must be somekind of condensation/air movement/sound from interior heater (??) inside the car, just the right conditions for alarm to activate because when interior theft deterrant sensor is deactivated (button on "roof"), no alarm

EU model may be different, why don't you consult your local dealer?
