Default Turning off alarm motion sensor

Good evening all.

I have to take a ferry tomorrow, and would like to know how to turn off the alarm motion sensor (so that the alarm isn't triggered whilst on the ship).

I can't find anything in the manual?

Any ideas?

Many thanks

I might be wrong but I don't think the alarm has motion sensor. I think it will only alarm if you open a door. Not even shattered glass would trigger it. It has never gone off due to a loud vehicle driving by.

My 2018 RX450h alarm went off two days ago when I left the front windows down about 1/4" and the wind blew my privacy window screen out....so yeah, there is a motion sensor. Not only that but when I bought the car new, one add-on was if someone tried to jack the car up (towing company), the alarm would go off. I will soon be riding on a long ferry and have been inside my car for short 40 min crossings when so many other alarms were going off. I have no idea if mine will or not. so, a legitimate question still exists. Does ANYONE know a way to disable the alarm, temporarily? I bet there is a maintenance mechanism in place....

I could be wrong but I believe if you only hit the lock button ONCE on the fob when leaving the car it does not arm the alarm. Based on my own observations of my own car I noticed that the red warning light that flashes on the center console does not flash when hitting lock ONCE. Only after hitting it twice does it began to flash.

Worth a try I suppose.
