We recently traded our LX470 for the RX and one of the big things we knew we were giving up would be luggage space. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage girls so when we take road trips there is always plenty of "stuff" to go along with us. I spent some time searching the web but struggled to find pics of an RX with suitcase in the hatch to see what we could fit and sitting on the dealer lot made it hard to decide but we ultimately took the plunge and completed the trade. Below are a couple of pics that may help others in the future, both pictures are with the rear seats slide all the way back. The first is with the rear seats full up. This is with 3 full size and 1 carry on size, as you can see there is plenty of room to spare for toiletries, pillows and blankets.

At some point in the negotiations I reared up on my hind legs and refused to pack the ironing board!

 

I have a Thule roof box as well but only used it prior when we had 6 people for a full week trip

 

hmmm....if I tried to load six people I'd have to leave the owners manual at home and I really need that.

ROFL!! You could get a trailer and put the extra people on that! I wanted to just post the ROFL here but that was too short to be allowed, so I had to say something else.
