Default Text messages no longer displayed

I have a 2013 RS450h.
My HTC One (Android 6.x) connects fine and I am able to use Bluetooth for phone calls, stream music, etc.
However recently (few months now) I notice that the car dose not display incoming text messages any more.
All the settings are proper on the phone and car.
I can go to Messages on the display in the car and see the messages (and play them manually) but I no longer get the immediate pop up notification.

Next oil change I will ask the dealer...

Any thoughts?

Try removing that phone and then re-pairing it

Are you positive that the security settings for the messenger app haven't changed? Remember that with Lollipop, the security settings are per app, not per phone.

The re-pairing did not help.
It is so odd as I can see messages (list) on the Lexus screen .... but I don't get notified on it when they arrive.

I am using Android 6 (Marshmallow).

Still have an issue with my HTC (Android 6.0).
Incoming messages do not pop up but do get logged pretty immediately so i can review on the car display.
I have rest everything and re-paired the phone.
I can't believe it is some sort of setting on the HTC as the messages are passed to the Car - just not popping up.

I can pair my Samsung S7 (Android 6.0.1) and the incoming messages pop up.

Thoughts?

Tech at dealer said they have seen issues with some Android phone. He paired another HTC (Android 6.0) with my car and it had the same issue.... no pop-up but messages do get passed to car.
Samsung S6 works fine....(Android 6.0.1).
Unsure if phone, or software and hoping Lexus addresses it with fall software update. <?>

Too many text messages on the phone? Will need to delete some. Memory low on the phone? Also make sure the phone is updated to the latest software updates.
