Replacing battery in the 2014 RX350 remote?
I have the 2014 RX350.
It's been over 2 years now and I am noticing I have to get much closes to the vehicle in order to get the car locked/unlocked.
I am thinking battery inside the remote needs to be replaced.
Is this is a standard battery that I can buy at a local store? If so, which battery and any instruction that you can provide?
Obviously, I would like to do it myself to avoid the trip to dealer and likely high price.
Please let me know. Thanks.

You need CR1632 battery. Many local stores carry these, including Walmart.
Replacement is extremely easy. Lots of videos on youtube. In short, you remove the key blade from the fob, and use it to pry open the remote.

I forgot to ask. Is there any kind of reprogramming involved for memorized seat settings, etc? The video did not mention anything like that.
Was wondering how that would work once battery is taken out and replaced?

Is it possible to program the key to automatically adjust seat and mirrors settings when opening the car? And how does one know the battery needs to be replaced - will it be displayed in the dash?
Just an fyi, if your battery were to ever die before you replace it, you can play the battery right against the power button and it should turn on. You can also take out the metal key and use it to unlock the door also.

Put the fob next to the engine start-stop button and push it to start. That's where the RFID reader is. It will pick up the passive chip in the remote that doesn't need a battery.
A coworker asked me to help change the battery in his BMW's key fob. After much
hassling with trying to pry apart the case I took it to a dealer. Part person was nice
enough and asked if I had a Photo ID and registration for the car... Turns out that the
key is unservicable and you must order a replacement for $166 dollars that they
don't stock and will be available within a week of being ordered.

I just pulled my Audi key apart just to check and there's a tab to push to pull out the battery. Even more straightforward than a Lexus key. And it does use the more common CR2032.
I've had pretty good success with batteries from ebay (arizona batteries or something). He typically sells a strip of five batteries, shipped in a day or two, for less than one Eveready at Walmart.
