Default How much torque when tightening lug nuts?

Hi, cant seem to find it in the beast of a manual anywhere, but does anyone know much torque is specified to tighten the wheel lug nuts on the RX450h?

76 foot pounds. I usually just round it up to 80. Most Toyota and Lexus vehicles are the same torque.

Perfect! Thank you. Just for reference, is it written anywhere apart from in the manual?

Default DON'T Grease the Lugs!

Wheel lug torque specs are for clean, dry threads.
If you lube them it invalidates the factory torque recommendations.
Yeah, I know, people have been lathering on all sorts of lubricants for years, but that's not the way it is supposed to be done.

And if you're using a click-type or digital torque wrench, there's no reason to "round it up" - just use the 76. If they wanted 80 they would have said 80.

Correct, do not put any lubricant on your wheel lugs! If anything, use a wire brush to clean the threads before mounting your wheels.

Agree fully. While I have a manual wire brush in hand, I also hit the hat of the rotor. Learned this from my dentist, who taught me to brush my gums after a thorough teeth brushing!

The wheel nut spec is 76 ft/lbs and do not use any lubricate on the wheel threads/nuts.

Do NOT grease the threads. You will over-tighten before you reach the normal torque value. You can break the lug bolts. And, you may wind up with uneven torquing on the lugs of the same wheel, which can cause uneven stress on the rotors.

I used to do it until I found out how bad an idea it was.
