Auto fold side mirror repair?

Hello all, when my wife backed up our 13 RX350 out of the garage, the driver side mirror hit the garage wall and the mirror bend forward a little. Now the auto fold mirror can still fold all the way in fine, but it doesn't unfold all the way out

and need to unfold it manually while the motor was still running.

Just wondering if anyone has experience repairing it?

I worry that dealer will just ask to replace the entire unit and that will cost a fortune

Please advise,

Not knowing what inside may have been damaged, replacing the whole assy is probably an accurate assessment.

I think there was someone with a LS430 that had the same problem a while back. I would search that forum and see what you find.

Side mirror damage

Where you able to fix the mirror? How much did it cost? I just did the same thing to mine but was backing into the garage instead.

Dealer was kind enough to replace it under warranty. The whole mirror unit was replaced, so the inner door panel was removed to accomplish that. I think that mirror unit costs $1K+...
