Default Roof Rack Crossbar *****

Anyone know where I can get crossbar *****? I lost one of mine and dealer solution is to re buy the crossbars. I tried calling my dealer and sewell parts catalog. it seems the only option is rebuy the entire crossrack.

I'm sure there are places to get them new - someone else will probably make a few suggestions, but one place I always like to try is the local salavage yard. Many times I go there for a small hard to get item and find a bunch of other things that are in better shape that what I have. Any salvage yard with a wreaked RX will most likely have a set for the taking (I mean paying for).

Also, check out this site. I don't know if they have what your looking for but I see crossbar "retainers" for around $1.80 each: http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...X350-2013.html

Thanks very much. I will give Sewell a call. Unfortunately, I called in few salvage yards a while ago and they only had really old cars. I wish I also lived in a state with salvage yard near by.

UPDATE: That part from sewll is to retain the roof rack to the car. Thanks tho.

I will post in classified maybe someone can sell me their ***** if unused.

Remove one of the remaining *****, take it to lowes or some hardware store. If you need help have someone help you find out what size and threads are on the old ****. After you find the size and threads per inch you can look for a replacement at an industrial supply type web site, such as grainger or McMaster Carr. These industrial parts web sites have push on type ***** that will fit over a bolt too.
Good Luck.

I realize this is resurecting an old thread, but I lost one of the ***** on the cross-rails on my RX450h, and the local hardware and home improvement stores DID NOT have a suitable replacement. All they had were english sizes, and the Lexus star ***** are metric thread.

I did, however, locate suitable replacements from Grainger (www.grainger.com). It's called a "Star Grip ****", part number 3DFZ4. It's not quite identical (as it's a 7-pointed star, where the original is 5-pointed.) But it is only $3.35. You can buy it online and have it sent to your local Grainger outlet (no shipping), or they'll ship it to you for ~$10.

In case you want to try another source, the threads are M6, the screw/bolt length is 0.78" and the star diameter is 1.26"

Hope this helps someone.
