Red face Can this headlight be easily cleaned?

My 2010 halogen lights has someone's prints smeared on the inner bulb cover. I know it's pretty **** to worry about this, but if they can be easily cleaned, I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts! See pic below with nasty prints/smears! Ugh!

I don't know how they got there. It's a cpo car. Wouldn't think this happened during assembly of it?! Maybe we could track the perp if prints were turned into cops. Am thinking it's pretty difficult to get into that area?

Haven't had a chance yet to really look at the assembly of the light in order to get at the glass lens inside. Was hoping some of the others here have worked on the area with all the lighting mods being done. Sure would like to wipe off those darn fingerprints!

I would show that to the dealership where you bought it They should make it right.

if its indeed on the inside, in order to get at it you'd have to bake open the headlights in the oven, dissemble the glue and then reseal it once all is said and done.

Again, am I just being WAY too picky about these fingerprints? You cannot really see them in the daylight, only when the lights are on and only up close up and looking at the lens. If the dealership took the headlight apart to clean the smears, might end up with a headlight that fogs or leaks which would be a worse case scenario. Thoughts???

Personally, I'd take them in and ask for the problem to be corrected. I am extremely meticulous about things on my own rides myself.

Your challenge is perhaps to "get a move on and do it" if you're worried about downstream issues. I say that given you have a 2010 and the basic warranty may likely be expiring soon, so any problems after that ends, as you know, become yours to deal with. Until then, should there be another issue, it's easy to work through on Lexus' dime.

That would not get there during the assembly. Get this taken care of at the dealer.

Thanks for the comments! Called the dealer and documented the problem with a SA. He made notes and read them back to me. Unfortunately, living 180 miles from the dealer not sure when I will get in there for the repair or replacement, but at least they know I'm dissatisfied with this and it's in their records. My guess is they would have to replace the whole light assembly to fix it?
