Default 3RX Suspension upgrade

Hi,

Anyone think the ride is too soft and upgrade their suspension ?
Is there any kit out to upgrade suspension to sportier ride ?
Is there a tire with harder / lower profile side wall to make ride more sportier ?

Thank you

Welcome to CL, cupertino. It would be helpful if you provide more information like what year RX, 350 or 450h, 18"s or 19"s, tire brand, AWD or FWD, etc. There has been some discussion about improving the body roll in this thread. Or there's the F-Sport with its stiffer and sportier suspension.

The easiest thing to do is to upgrade wheels and tires. 19th will ride firmer than 18th. If the roads in your area are in a good condition, you can even be more aggressive. If you will never drive in snow, a good set of summer-only tires will give you a stronger sidewall.

Sure, I think the ride is "too soft" which is why they sell plenty and my wife likes it (with 19's that is). Sounds like you picked the wrong car more than anything.

Running summer only/performance tires isn't the weak link in the chain here. I'm not really a Lexus fan (thought we would get the F Sport for sure, but really preferred the ride of the std suspension - wife coming from an Audi S) but it fits her criteria and I think Toyota did a great job with the vehicle over the years on several levels.

I feel the ride is rough and excessively bumpy, not as smooth as id like it to be.

^ i completely agree. But compared to most CUV Whether a Nissan Murano or an Audi Q5/Q7 , the RX is the softest you can get.

Default F sport Dampers

Just found this on Sewell Lexus. Has anyone tried installing these F sport dampers?

There was one member, Dolphin, who tried it out, but only the front dampener. Here's his findings. (Post 29 & 30)

The price at LEXUS of SOUTH ATLANTA PARTS is cheaper that SewellParts.
Both front and rear are $ 473.69.

I had bought shark fin antenna from them before.

It appears that Dolphin only did the front because his Lexus guys told him the same thing they initially told me- a rear hitch isn't compatible with the rear damper. This isn't true. You would have to buy an aftermarket hitch, as I did, but it will only cost you about $140. It's on etrailer.com and fit perfectly. It has mounting sites specifically for re-install of the damper once the hitch is on. Ride quality did not change at all after the install.
