Just got the 2013 with nav. When I am driving around town I don't need the map and want the radio screen to show. I click radio to change the channel but after a few seconds the screen defaults back to the map. Is there an option to change this without it being a pain when is driving out of town?
I first brought this up with Lexus shortly after purchasing our new '01. 2013 and still no fix.
At first I purchased a remotely controlled wireless fog light switch which I used to "open" the DVD door.
My Garmin turned out to be so much more reliable, more accurate routing, overall that I always leave the RX's DVD uninstalled. Paid $250 for the LAST Lexus DVD update, Garmin comes with lifetime updates..
I ended up not be satisfied with that so I opened up the module and added a timer circuit that effectively depresses the radio mode pushbutton a second or so before the system switches back to the moving map mode.
There is also the option of selecting the mpg page that does not revert to the moving map. I discovered this inadvertently since I oftentimes wish to have the OAT screen up constantly in order to easily know that road icing is probable.
Well, you better start studying the manuals because your test is next week While they do have a lot of information, be sure to spend some time exploring the menu from behind the wheel. Have fun.
Thank you! I looked at the manuals yesterday a little. They are so big it's a bit daunting.
Everyone processes information differently, but I personally found it easier to digest the information in the manuals when I used the PDF files available on-line on the Lexus owner's site. The manuals are broken down into one file per section and they're searchable, so it's a little easier to find a specific bit of information.
You can split the screen into 2 - having map on the left and audio on the right. It's in the map settings - you can add different screens, such as audio and fuel economy.
