HELLO EVERYONE,

I'm in a desperate need of a used engine for a 2010 Lexus Hybrid RX450H, All whee drive without tow package. My engine was shot do you my buddy messing up on the oil change. So if anyone can get me any info on a salvage yard or anything who has it, please let me know. Lexus dealer can't even get one either.... they tell me $6000.00 but still can't get it.

This just doesn't sound right. Did you buy your car new or used? How many miles were on it? What was done wrong on the oil change? What happened to the engine?

And it only came out in the (h) just shy of three years ago. Not likely you'll get one anywhere except from Lexus.

 

Tough break ... hope you find a solution. The engine in my son's Grand Cherokee Limited went last year. We got quotes for rebuilding the engine or putting a used engine in the car. In the end, the car was sold to some friends that went with the quote for a used engine. It worked out and they have been driving the car for six months. I would consider giving Lexus corporate a call and see if they can help you locate a new engine.

 

...I am sorry, but this story does not sound too "kosher" as they say in NY...sorry guy...blowing an engine with a bad oil change is difficult to understand...but what can I say it is your "problem" and I,for one, wish you the best...
