Default Lexus Card

Several folks mentioned maybe I should consider a lexus CC and I do have one. I figured they would be very popular on this site but from the replies I got it appears I may be in the minority.

I have had the card for about 3 years....had a GM card which I never used but my son got 3000 off of a pontiac once. I inquired about the Lexus card one day when I was getting service done and the service rep gave me an application. I have let the points build up and I will use the card when I get the new RX on the 19th. I actually picked that day because the card will end the dec billing cycle on 12/17 or 18 and I will get those points posted to the card.....a good bit has been charged with Xmas right around the corner. I get 1.5% on all purchases and 5% on lexus parts and service.....going to charge the dash replacement on the GX (~$700) next Monday.

I will get about 1700 dollars off on the RX because of the card....you can get as much as 10% off on a new lexus. Other than that, the points are good for parts and service. They are not good for Lexus inform stuff or anything else for that matter. The points do expire after 5 years.

Website is pretty good and you can see purchases and reward points etc.
Thought I would post the details since maybe folks could use it. Also there is no fee. I have been religiously charging everything I could to the card (paying it off every month of course) because I knew the day was coming when I would get an RX. By the way, it is only good on NEW cars....not used or CPO vehicles.

One more bit of good news.....Macon guy confirmed I can get the 0.9% financing..woo woo

15 days until santa comes early!!

I have one too. I only use it when I go in for service and not anywhere else. 5 points per dollar is very enticing. When I bought my RX, I made sure that they would put as much as possible on the credit card to pay for the vehicle, which was $2500.

Me too. I use it primarily for parts, detailing supplies, service and gas - basically everything car related.

Only $2500, I put my entire 15% down payment on this card when I order the car back in 2010($9000).

It doubles your warranty on purchases, a consideration for buying items like an iPad which come with a 1 year warranty. Problem is I've earned more credit than I'm able to use. The cars are too reliable!

My dealer let me charge $10,000 of the down payment for our RX on the card which means an instant $500 credit to use in the future. It's a good card with good service and a healthy credit line ($20,500 in my case).

I applied for one last week. It will have some competition in my wallet from some of my other cards. These can return anywhere from 5% on down to 1%. I hope to get some benefit from it and enjoy using it.

I got mine 8 years ago. I seldom pay on my maintenance service due to accumulated points.

I've had one for years, and have used the "points" for parts and service (I especially enjoy my "free" battery)
. When I bought a used CPO RX in '07, the dealer would only let me charge $5,000.00 to the card. I wanted to charge as much to the card as possible to get as many points as possible. I write a check to the card or to the dealer or both, so I did not care, but the dealer does take a 1 or 2% hit on charge card amounts, so I did what I could. I would have charged the whole thing on the card if possible, but from the dealer's point of view, that's a discount he had not counted on. The points can also be used to buy air tickets and car rentals, etc.

I have had this card since 2005 and I have spent about $2000 on parts from Lexus dealers (set of tires for the IS - $1200, parts from Sewells - $300 - services from the dealers - $400.....). My dealer only allows me to charge $5000 on the CC for the new car....

Tips: You can order parts from Sewells using the points since the prices are much better than the dealers'. Just to make sure you use the numbers FROM THE BACK of the card.
