Default Matching window tint

I want to get my front 3 window tinted to match the factory tint on the back ones. Any suggestions on a reputable company to do this? I might drive up to Lexus dealership to ask. I heard you need to re-tint the back windows and start all over to match.

You should probably check your local tinting laws. The % of that back window is likely not legal on the front windows. If you don't care about laws, then disregard this message.

I went with 35% all around, since that is what is legal in my state for the front two windows. I agree that two different shades of tint looks awful, so I kept it consistent.

Hmm I wonder what percentage is the factory tint. So you must have dialed down the tint on your back windows?

If you stop by or contact a tint shop they should be able to tell you what the rear tint level is. I recently had both cars tinted and the shop told me what the tint level was on the rear windows of SUV's and minivans but I don't recall what it was. I want to say 20% but thats a guess.

The rear windows are 20%. You can have them tinted that they look pretty much the same from the outside, but you will always be able to tell from the inside. Mine uses the 3m tint and looks pretty much the same from the outside.

I got my fronts tinted at 20% and it matched the rear really well better than 35%

20% is really dark....I used the 3M tint and so far no scratches or bubbles....

I am sure Dealers don't do tint but have it sent out to a local tint shop.....save yourself some $$$

20% matches better with rear factory tinted windows, because its more black. the rears on most newer vehicle is actually 30%. but if you use ta 30% film, it usually takes on the factory greenish color more than the blackish color. it matches better from the inside, but from the outside the color is off a bit. our 20% Dyed film or ceramic tint match up pretty close, with a slight slight bit darker look. this slight bit darker, takes over that greenish tone, and dominates over the color to make it look more blackish and factory. I have been tinting for over 29years and usually recommend the 20% over the 30% or 35% if you want a color match. stay away from any metalized tints if you want to color match a vehicle. those will not match at all.
