Let me know what you think of the Xtreme HID kit when you get it :-)
The kit came in yesterday, the DRLs last Friday. That was super fast shipping Everything looks great. Install will have to wait until the weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for your help.
I used to have the same 96-LED DRL from iJDMTOY with the big bulky decoder box which I just now replaced with the same bulb with a much smaller decoder (smaller than our smart key remote) attached to the harness itself. The bulb just came in Wednesday of last week.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread but here are some pics of the new 96-LED DRL from iJDMTOY with the new & compact decoder as requested.
V V V V (sorry for the crappy pic)
1st PIC is the old decoder
2nd PIC is the new & compact decoder which is attached to the harness and wrapped with a rubber sleeve (comes as is). Small enough that it fits in the IS's small housing.
3rd PIC is the 96-LED bulb which has a bluish hue to it.
4th PIC is the DRL in the dark
5th PIC is the DRL in the shade on a sunny day.
Looks great...and bright! I'm not sure why I couldn't get the same results. I was hoping the Decoder (the old version) would have made the difference. Maybe the voltage to the IS DRLs is more compared to the RX or the new decoders work better than the old ones.
^I'd like to know too. I considered getting LEDs but I was concerned about losing the high beams, especially since the fog lights turn off when activated.
Thanks for the pics Ben9, very nice setup, that decoder is nice and compact. The LED DRL are nice and bright, did you buy the decoder from iJDMTOY as well? Did the decoder make the LED much brighter?
Honestly, I didn't notice any difference except for a super tiny flicker when you're looking at it up close meaning within a couple of feet or so. Or maybe it's just my eyes

Not too knowledgeable about this. Maybe someone can chime in.

You're right. The high beam is on the HID but with the help of DRLs (high beam mode). However, high beams aren't as bright anymore now that I switched to LED DRLs. Its something I can live with though as I do mostly city driving so there's really not much of a need for it. Others who are much more experienced with lighting has opted out for non LED DRLs which are much brighter.
Ben9, very interesting, so the IS350 use the bi-xenon and the 9005 DRL bulb for high beam?
So the decoder only get rid of the flicker, this make sense because most LED is not dimmable.
Not too sure what size it is. But yeah, that's what decoders pretty much do.
