Those are the exact same ones I did the first time. Look at my first post pics and you will see what they look like installed. I felt they were a tad week on the light output, I did like the sleekness of them.

It would be cool to have the round LED as DRL like the 2012 VW Beetle.

Here are a couple pics of theLED's at night. If you look at the ground they throw a lot of light.

No not yet. I think I am going to try and recess them further back in that area. I haven't gotten around to doing so because of the heat. It's too darn hot. Will update when I do that. They have not budged one bit though.

Default Update

OK I braved the oppressive temperatures in the garage and moved the lights back further. They are there for good now. I had to cut into the black plastic to get them to go back further. They are also screwed in now. They look a lot better sunken back in, not so 'add-on' looking. On to the next project.

Great job, MEP. They look like they belong on the RX. Do I dare ask, what's the 'next project'?

Anita

I just said that, LOL, nothing in mind but I'm sure something will come up. I have a feeling the 12's will have the illuminated homelink buttons and of course I will have to have those. Depending on the cost. No glow in the dark stickers for me.

Although I don't consider myself an expert at reading technical documents, I was poking around a '12 document at the Toyota tech site and didn't see any indication of illuminated homelink's. Hope I'm wrong. Perhaps a generation 4 feature?

I used self tapping sheet metal screws, less likely to crack the housing. The passenger side there is lots of support but I did have to cut a lot more plastic out of the way. The drivers side is fine as I left the middle fin and screwed up thru that, then had to put a brace pushing down on the light to keep it aligned with the other one. If I knew it was going to be this much trouble I would have skipped this mod. It's done now though. I am easy to spot.

I can't believe Lexus would give the ES350 and the 250h the illuminated buttons but not the RX. Maybe gen4.

Not necessarily just your RX, Michael. I'd like to see more pictures of this mod on other RXs even though yours looks great Post away!

Hi MEP

You may have already done so, although I couldn't find it. Can you provide a link to you LEDs, at at least send me a PM?

Thanks.
