Default 2011 AWD RX450h purchase refund

It's official, my wife and I brought a 2011 RX AWD 450h. We want to thank all the replies on prior threads from the members of this forum.

Not upset with the price or vehicle, but we have a nagging question, which we would like feedback, before we talk to the dealer's general manager. It was an agreed cash contract(internet price), with one small option, 3yr paint-sealant package. We decided, the next day, we don't need this service, so can we ask for a refund?

The cost of the paint-service is about $350, but since it is in the contract, do Lexus dealers let customers change there minds and give minor refunds?

Costco and Nordstroms has spoiled us, too bad they don't sell cars. Thanks for your replies. More questions to follow.

Regards, kona44

Costco car-selling program above.

Have no idea about the contract or whether it is re-negotiable.

My dealer gave me a partial refund for the accessory package since the floor mats weren't available. It was on the contract but they made the adjustment when I picked it up. Less money I had to pay. Can't see why they wouldn't do it.

Car contracts do not have a 'cooling off' period where you can negate the contract if you change your mind, so the dealer is under no obligation to accomodate you. And if he did he just can't rebate money to you, it would require a whole new contract. Perhaps you can exchange the paint protection for something else, but money back, not likely.

Kudos to the General Manager at Arrowhead Lexus, Peoria, AZ. Because of the help from member replies, I ask the dealer's GM to refund the paint-sealant cost from the contract. Without hesitation, he agreed and within 5mins, finance called to say the check was in the mail. Nice to know this dealer puts the customer first and the contract second.

Thanks for your help and more posts to follow.

I love Arrowhead Lexus, that's where I bought mine. They always treat you right. They are having a premier party Friday for the CT 200h, I'll be there.

That's one of the great things about driving a Lexus. You get A-1 treatment at the dealership. I've driven several vehicles over the last 30 years, and the Lexus dealership has been hands over the best!

That dealer did the right thing. Just take care of the customer by either giving a refund or credit in parts/service. That is how it should be. We are only talking a few hundred dollars which really at that point did not cost the dealership anything.
