"Check AWD System" Warning Message (merged threads)
Clutchless, Thank you. I will have my battery checked but one thing that is suprising is that the error goes away after I full the tank, everytime I encounter the check AWD error, I fillup the tank with gas and that resets the trip computer and goes away. It again came back second time and I did the same and it was gone. Now my tank is full, I havent got the error yet but most likely it ll come back after certain fuel level.
Your check lights are possibly due to a bad sender unit in the gas tank. As stated above you need to scan for stored codes. It may be time to have a shop look at your RX, not a dealer, but an independent repair shop that works on Toyotas etc.
Battery Test
OBD2 scanner
One more question Clutchless, the attendant measured the battery when the engine was OFF and the reading above was based on the engine being OFF, Would that test reading be still Okay with engine OFF battery test?
I don't know that answer. I assume the attendant knew what he was doing so that we may assume the test results are valid.
Batteries do fail all the time and often much sooner than expected. Modern vehicles with all the electronics are very hard on batteries.
That is why I splurged for an AGM battery when my 2016 Sienna needed a battery and it is the same as the RX mechanically but being newer has more electronic stuff on it.

12.71 volts with the engine off is typically okay but may be borderline in these vehicles (which are essentially rolling computers). What did the battery voltage measure with the engine running?
I replaced the 4.5 year-old battery in my wife's 2006 Jaguar XK8 last month. It measured just 11.75 volts with the engine off so it was definitely on its way out. I replaced it with the appropriate AGM battery (built by East Penn) from my local NAPA store. My experience the last five years or so is that East Penn builds longer-lasting batteries than Johnson Controls does. They are the two main vehicle battery companies in the U.S.

Just changed to new battery yesterday sept 16 and today sept 17 while driving again had check AWD warning and again when the fuel was in 3/4th. This time I long pressed traction control and power button and then the check AWD warning with check engine light went off. Not sure why and how. I checked my gas cap rubber ring and it seems alright, cleaned the gas cap well.
Now seems like even with the new battery this issue is showing up my focus now is on tire or gas cap. I always fully close the gas cap and gas cap ring also seems OKAY.
I remember when the mechanic few days back scanned check engine code c1403 and 1407 with the rear sensor can possibly trigger check AWD warning?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't read this entire post, but this has happened three times in the 12-yrs with my 2010 RX 350 (177k miles). Each time I scanned for the code, cleared it and it didn't come back for years. I'd do that first and if the check-engine/AWD warnings happen again, bring it in.
