Quote: Happy to see another “jeeper” in Lexus forum. Between my family and I since 60’s we probably had almost all forms of Jeep except for the Commander and the newer front drive jeeps. Like you 10RX was purchased for wife but for now I am driving more than she is.

In regards to hitch, I will be adding the Curt brand hitch for $150 noted in other part of this forum. Jeep will always will be Jeep and I love the “Jeep thing” so don’t compare it to 10RX. You will be happy to know that your gas mileage on 10RX will be much higher as I am averaging 19-20MPG with 10RX but averaged 14-15MPG in XJ and ZJ with 4.0 but only averaged about 13MPG with V8 WJ. Welcome to RX forum
Fantastic! Happy to be in the company of a fellow jeeper too. I'll try to keep my comparisons to a minimum; my mentioning of the Commander was more to 'frame up' my point of view. Yeah, the Curt hitch is the way to go. I hear you on the mpg too. The commander had the hemi w/MDS and sometimes hit 18 on long flat trips down 95, but typically was around 14-15.

The luxury curve is so high on the 350 from any Jeep I have ever owned/been in that it is taking me some time to get used to it. I always associated the spartan ammenities with durablity and longevity (my 89 YJ has 165k miles on it and I wheel it hard). I worry that the super soft leather will wear or tear easily; I worry that the soft feel of the steering will be less responsive.

Make no mistake though I do like her Lexus. The hitch issue is more for the bikes anyway, so for now I'll just throw them in the bed of my 150.

Now if I can just find a decent, reliable, portable DVD player!
