Default tow prep package

I bought an awesome cpo 2009 rx 350 my only concern when buying it was that the person who owned it before me bought it brand new and had bought the tow prep package.I asked the salesman about and he said that person did not use it for towing and it had no tow hitch on vehicle.I have the car fax he gave me and the lady did buy it from his dealership.Should i be concerned?i really didnt want rx that was used for towing. So do people just buy towing prep package for better radiator, alternator and trans cooler?I see it was like only 160$ more options list he gave me for vehicle.

Many came from the factory with the towing package.
I doubt someone would install a hitch and then remove it from the vehicle.

It seems the Lexii come in a few formats from the factory that might not otherwise be ordered. We just bought a new RX350 and it had the towing prep package. We bought it because we liked the other features on it and its color. Having or not having the towing package did not influence us in any way. That may have been the case with the one in question.

You should be happy that your RX came with the Towing Package and yet was not in fact used to tow anything. Yes, many purchase just to have those bits installed. Having the transmission cooler alone is worth it, IMO. Should you ever have the need to tow a small U-Haul you will already have the relay installed for the lights as part of this package. Now, if you so desire you can get an OEM, Curts or U-Haul hitch with the wiring and you would be all set for any long trip or even just to transport bicycles. Gives you options if they should ever be needed. If not, all the extra bits are still doing their work behind the scene.
