Loose Front Bumper From Canada
The original problem presented on the passenger side, the issue that started this thread. Dealer insisted that it was caused by a slight bump on the driver side. Now after 3 weeks and little driving a slight 1/8 to 1/4 in gap is noted on the drivers side by the headlight. Will show at 5000 mile service. I guess sooner or later Lexus will acknowledge the issue.
sorry to hear your bad experience. my car seems fine so far after 2k drive. made in Japan.

Ahhh, I kinda forgot about the BBB, and State attorney general office. Thanks for the suggestions. Mind gets clouded when your fuming
Might even try one of those news investigator types, though I don't think they would really feel sorry for a Lexus owner.

The newspaper/tv stations marketing department will kill your story even before it gets investigated. There is too much advertisement dollars from auto dealers that are at stake here. To the editor/producer such considerations and pressure always take precedent over others irrespective of good intentions.
Well... trying to write this when my car is almost ready.
My dealer determined this gap issue "no problem verified". We checked all the RX10 in the lot, 13 out of 18 have the gaps, and mine isn't the worst yet. Therefore, they said it's normal. Meanwhile, my clips insides the bumper seem tight and secured...

Whoa! I looked at both sides and don't see any defects. Mine is from Cambridge, built in April.
Its the build quality that drove me, a 2-times owner of Acura MDX 01 and 05, away from Acura, to Lexus, which I always liked for its build quality, but driving characteristics of previous RX models kept me away from.
So far, I am happy with my RX. No squeaks or rattles. No abnormal noises. No signs of premature aging, misalignment, loose parts, etc. Knocking on the nearest wood.
Good luck to the ones with these defects.

Thanks, I'm glad you posted those. You're right, that can't and isn't normal. Up to now I was really clueless as to the problem other than what I was reading. I've looked at others in the local showroom and didn't see a problem and picked the dickens out of mine, even pulled a little to see if something would give. Nada on both counts. Those photos really tell the story. Is it that bad with everyone else that has problems too ???
I mentioned in another thread that I'm a high type 'A'. If my car looked like that and was basically being ignored by the service dept, the noise down here in GA would be so loud they'd hear it in Canada.
But it's not the case and I've seen no evidence on others I've looked at. Some from Japan and most from Canada.

Cruiter,
I'm willing to bet that RX450's don't have this issue. With that extra slot in the front of the bumper, the underpinnings are probably just different enough to hold fine. Well, we'll let the customer svc at corporate work on it for a little. Then maybe start hootin & hollerin if nothing done by the 5000 mile svc.

If you don't fight, then who will fight for you ???
Hmm, what do you think might happen if Lexus Corp started thinking of a massive recall? What do you think Lexus might think if the Dealer didn't stand up for you and Lexus got wind of it?
Thanks, now we have something to compare. None of the ones we saw at our dealer had ANY separation, so was a little confused when you saw some on your lot. Sad, but nice to know ours is way out there and not one of the "normal" ones your dealer had referred to.
