I've had all sorts of cosmetic problems on my 2007 RX350, including the molding coming loose on THREE windows, the wood console piece cracking, missing bolts underneath the car, a problematic power door, etc., but nothing operational. My car was from Canada. I was hoping that if I purchased a 2010 from Japan that I wouldn't encounter these same problems, but it doesn't sound as if that is the case. From what I read here, it doesn't sound as though most of you have encountered these same problems on previous RX's. Does Canada generally have a reputation for quality vehicles?

Or maybe they just push it back in.

That's what I used to do. Now the clips won't hold the edges in for more than a couple of hours, so I don't even bother. It's not loose enough to be unsafe, it just looks like crap.

The has long passed a reasonable amount of time to have been addressed by Lexus. By now I would have asked my dealership for a refund, which has been done by several dealerships in the deep South. Junk!

I would say one year is enough time to fix a plastic clip

There's a catch-22 about that, though - I love the vehicle otherwise, and everything else about it (other than some iPod integration quirks) is rock-solid. So I'm not in any hurry to deep-six it over a bumper cover. I'll just keep gently applying pressure until I get it fixed.

I guess you are type B personality. If I bought a new car and I am driving around with the bumper sticking out, I would not be happy at all. While some owners would just drive around like that as if nothing is wrong.

I'd say I'm AB - I'm unhappy about it, but it's not a deal-killer, since I know it will be fixed eventually. (One way or another, either via Lexus' "official" solution to the problem or me being the squeaky wheel.)

Default Add One More Loose Bumper

I have the same problem with the right front bumper. I push it back in, but it comes back out after I drive the RX. I'll let the dealer know of this problem and report back to this forum.

Smile Front bumper coming lose

My dealer in San Diego, says that new clips will availble in December 2009 and that I should call in early December to make an appointment. They want a couple of hours to remove and replace the clips and bumper.

Default Dealer's Answer

I called my dealer in Sarasota, FL about the loose bumper and was told Lexus had a fix and I would be contacted when it was ready for installation. I asked if I needed to establish a work order, and was told Lexus has a list of those who bought the 2010 RX and they would contact me. I'll let the forum know what happens.

Your dealer is full of it, the bumper clips are not a recall, Lexus will not be contacting you.

I don't think that's what the OP said. Lexus does indeed have a recommended fix - mine's being installed Monday, and my dealer did call to tell about it yesterday and schedule it.

The OP never mentions a recall, although the bit about Lexus having a list is a little convoluted.

I'll update this on Tuesday after I get my RX back.

That was what I meant, the dealer may call the customer when the new clip comes in but Lexus will not contact owners unless it is a recall.

Default Update on bumper issue

Hi all--

I also have a RX350 with the same problem--

I spoke to two different dealerships this AM--

Here's the latest--

TSB was issued late last week. Fix is new clips and new bumper interior "rail". Will take a dealer a half day to perform. Some dealers have a small number of parts kits to fix, others are awaiting them. It is NOT a recall as of this date.

I hope this helps.

Best regards--
Bill (Also have IS 350c on order)
