Exclamation How to reset maintenance required light?

Oil change reminder (maint required) came on but I still had over 1k miles to go on oil change. Maintenance required was flashing last week at start up but it just stays on now after a long trip. I went into info and maintenance section of my navigation display screen and reset the 5k interval with 0 miles left to 1k interval thinking this would shut the light off until I could get the oil changed, no luck. I did the same thing for the oil filter, set to 1k. Anyone know what other steps i can do to get the light off for at least another 500 miles. I have searched the threads to find many answers but none are for my 2008 RX350 w/navigation. I have no odo button, no mini display menu in the dash between the gauges, etc. Thanks in advance for any help or links to a thread that covers my model.

On page 159 of the "LEXUS 2008 RX350 NAVIGATION SYSTEM OWNER'S MANUAL (OM48730U)" (page 171 when viewing as pdf file), if you go to screen settings and delete personal information it may turn off the maint required permanently. I don't have navigation, so I can't be sure.

Thank you. I didn't think to look in the Navi system owners manual. The regular owners manual had steps for reset with the odometer button which I didn't have, so I didn't look any further. I will try this and post results.

fyi I believe the maint reqd indicator is what i have and what all second gens have in that it will flash for about 30 sec or so then go out until you hit the actual service interval when it actually is due then it will light up solid. If you are talking about the maintenance section of the nav screen; yes there should be a way to do that by touching the maintenance section then going to oil change. I know at least on mine thats the what happens.

I just figured it out. Woohoo! Apparently the maintenance section of the Navigation system has nothing to do with the Maintenance Required light on the dash cluster. I just found the odo/trip button on my model that I didn't know I had (My 2001 RX300 had a button on dash cluster like most cars if I remember correctly). Next to the dash cluster display dimmer switch, just forward of the turn signal switch and steering will tilt switch. Turn ignition switch on make sure odo mileage is showing/ ign switch off/ hold down odo/trip button on dashboard/ ign switch on and watch the odometer dash out and count down/ ignition switch off. NO MORE maintenance required light for at least 4500 miles. After my oil change which is still 1k away, I will reset it again to get it on schedule. Maybe most all of you RX350 owners knew about the odo/trip button but this is my first of many future RX350's. Thanks for all your help. 2ks.

Default Can I turn off the "Maintenance Required" light myself?

I do my own maintenance, My "Maintenance required" light recently came on, and wondering if this requires a special tool to reset, or is there possibly a sequence of button pushes somewhere that will reset it?

Yeah, no tools required but heck, I can't remember how to do it.
All I know is it was easy.

The tire guy showed me once when I took my car in for new tires and now I've forgotten.

Push and keep trip button, turn key in first position, and wait for the end of reset process

You forgot to mention an important step. Before you do this procedure, make sure that the the actual odometer is selected/showing before doing this.
