Cool 1st time Lexus owner (RX330)

Hi everyone,
I am finally qualified to join the forum, having taken possession of my new Black RX 330 13 days ago. I have been reading all of your posts for months, and must say you have been very helpful in my search for a new suv. You really have the scoop when it comes to the RX, even much faster than my dealer, with whom I have taken your info to, and it took him a week and a half to confirm (performance pkg problems...) Anyway, I have driven over 1100 miles aleady, and find any excuse I can to take it for another ride. I love to really "drive" , and my husband laughs at how many times I have tested the RX going 55-60mph around curves. I love a car that hugs the road, and this one does. The performance package certainly makes a difference in the ride and handling. I was waiting (put deposit down Feb 3) for a neptune blue one with performance and navigation, but finally was told that they just aren't making them yet in that color. My dealer suggested that I come look at the black. I was glad that I did. My first impression was WOW this car has ATTITUDE. I have the ivory interior (which I had wanted), performance pkg, navigation pkg, premium pkg, 18" graphite polished wheels. A real beauty. Thanks for all the information provided thus far. I am glad that I am not the only RX addict. I wanted to attach a pic, but have to figure out how to make it small enough to send to be under 102,400 bytes.

Congrats on your purchase! Welcome to the family.
One way around the attachement size limit is to upload your pictures to the gallery and then just link to that image (using the IMG tag).

Just wanted to also say welcome. It sounds like you are really enjoying driving your car. I am driving from Northern California to Southern California tomorrow and am excited to see how it handles. Also, welcome to ClubLexus. I too enjoy reading all the posts and check it whenever I can to see what new ones are up. Happy Driving!

Smile 1600 Km

Quebec City, Canada
One of the lucky 5-10 in Qc City to ride a RX330 (only AWD in Canada), ultrapremium (with everything)!
1660 Km , and so far, no real problem at all, except for a minor problem (bad noise) when closing the sun-roof.. A lot of hill in the city, and did not notice any hesitation when the car shift from 4 to 5 or backshift from 5 to 4. The A/C compressor seems to be a little bit noisy, when trying to keep the inside temp down by cooling.
Everything work well and as expected. The rear cam is a very usefull thing, having to park in very narrow street. I'm VERY happy with this car
What's missing in this car?
1. The nav system doesn't cover Qc City; I tried it in Montréal: INCROYABLE !!!. I hope that they will cover my city shortly (but don't really need it to go to work at 06h00 in morning)..
2. In car cellphone (as in Onstar)
3. Yellow light indicator(turn light) on each side on the car (exterior), that flash with the turn signal light in back and front (very usefull to show your intention to turn to a car riding by your side), and/or turning light on ext. mirror
4. On next model (RX-360), please... in RX330, the steering wheel obstruct in almost any position the view of the "instrument cluster"( tachometer, all gauge, speedometer, odometer, etc...).
5. Would like to be able to use the full navigation command, even while driving.

I do not hesitate to recommand this car

Wink

OCBP, does your 330 have air suspension? If so, what do you think? Also, does the sports package make it ride "rougher" and "firmer" than one without? Thanks.

Cool

Thanks all for the warm welcomes. Nice to see fellow NJ members and PA (grew up there), Flint330 -I envy your planned drive in CA , I would love to drive the Coast Highway with my new RX. I did it two years ago with a rented Volvo Cross Country, no comparison. I have family there - and I just felt the sudden urge to visit them . YWW- my Rx does have the performance pkg and comes with air suspension. I test drove them WITH and WITHOUT. I most definitely prefer the performance pkg. You do get a different ride, not rougher as you stated, but it is firmer. I like to "feel" the road, not float over it. I would rather feel some bumps in the road than not at all and lose that "feel" you get with the performance pkg. Comfort vs handling is a personal choice. But for me, I choose handling. Without the pkg, I was not able to take those curves like I do , I felt like I HAD to slow down, just like HOWIE suggested I do anyway Try them both if you can. What do you drive now?

Thumbs up

OCBP,
Congrats and you are right about the Perf Pkg. I also test drove both and decided on the Perf Pkg also.
There is less body roll in turns when the suspension is in the low setting, I usually have it set there unless
I have more people in the car. The Polished wheels are nice also. Good luck with your RX.

The performance package is a must. Car just holds the road better and does not feel floaty. Skip

Default Perf package

Hi!

Could you tell me exactly what is "the performance package"!!!
I think that we don't have this option, or config. in Canada (Qc)

Yes we do. HID (Xenon) headlights and adjustable, air suspension and 18-in wheels being the big highlights. But as an option it's close to CDN $6000 and so I didn't go for it.
