Default Spark Plug Replacement

2006 RX 330, 120000 miles in Lexus dealer for service suggested spark plug replacement, asked for cost quoted $535.00 for plugs???

Is this correct and what type plug.

I would ask the dealer the same question!
Most of that cost is probably labor.
What are your mechanical capabilities? Try a Toyota dealer or a trustworthy independent shop.

Oh, by the way...........welcome to the forum.

Welcome to Club Lexus 61fuel. Changing the spark plugs on the RX is a pain, especially the rear ones. Lexus charges are excessive for this. You might want to check out Toyota, they are almost always cheaper. This topic as well and almost any other problem with the RX has been discussed perviously. Use the "search this forum" function, it is a great resource. Here is a link you may find useful:

Wow, they are proud of their service.

I haven't checked lately, but in 2010, it was $189 at the independent Toyota/Lexus specialist we use. I would shop around.

The plugs are perhaps $50+. The rest is labor.

stick with Denso plugs: DIY or find a reliable mechanic to do it for you (if you are lazy like me)

The price seems high. I had the following service done at a Toyota dealership for $545 CDN:
Spark plugs
Brake fluid flush
Aquapel treatment
Winter tire intstallation
Rear diff fluid change

On a side note, the spark plugs looked horrible when they were changed at 190000kms, next time I will be changing them sooner.
I hope this helps,
Chris

Your local Toyota will come at better pricing. Our V6 is the same as the Highlander's.
