Hey everyone. So the interior door handles, foot areas, and the roof have the orange ambiant lighting for night driving. My question is can you put in a brighter bulb? The lighting is there but not very noticeable....
Is it just to be sure you didn't forget your feet somewhere?
Woah, you caught me! They just keep disappearing! No, the reason is our 7 series BMW has beautiful lighting that is dim yet noticable and gives a great look to the car at night. The same is for the 2008 Cadillac CTS we had. The wood was outlined in a white glow in addition to the door handles foot areas, etc. The Lexus lighting has potential i will give it that. However, in comparison to the Cadillac and 7 series it mines well not even be there.

I've replaced the interior door handles and sill plate with blue 3mm flat top LED's. Not overly bright but a much better improvement over the orange. Added one in each of the cup holders in the center console and two in the console itself.

The blue would be a great look do you have any pictures? How hard was it to do?

Just before and after, I'll try to upload them.
Not really difficult at all, removing the door panels and sill plates was the most challenging.
Made some ready for a 12v system using bulk led's and resistors.
Will pm you if I can't figure out the posting on the forum

Reason: pic post
I would like to do the same for the door sils but haven't seen a good detailed write up on how to properly remove the sils and what was the replacement bulb.

Thank you.
Sills are easy to remove compared to the doors panels, they unclip, start using a trim removal tool, flat piece of plastic or screwdriver wrapped with electrical tape so it doesn't scratch anything. Once it lifts up use your fingers . The plug and socket come apart making them easy to work on, made some led's with resistors and soldered them in place of the original ones.
