Lightbulb Problem finding replacement tail light bulbs

I have a 2006 RX330 and I'm trying to find replacement bulbs for my LED tail lights. The two on the back hatch and the passenger one on the fender have gone out recently and I haven't been able to find any information on the part numbers. A lady told me that they probably haven't started releasing after market bulbs for that model yet. Has anyone else found after market bulbs? I live pretty far from the dealership and was hoping to buy them close to home. I've never dealt with this before so I figured you could just go to a local auto store and order them.

your owner's manual will tell you what bulb you need

Here is that section of the Owner's Manual:

http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/do...9U/pdf/6-4.pdf

I was not aware that the 2006 used any LED bulbs as OEM. Though, when I look at the Sylvania site I see the listing:

http://www.sylvania.com/en-us/applic...l=1596&make=51

On my 2004 the bulbs in question are stock 168. You can check with the parts department at the dealership just to be sure. If so, and you want to go LED, there are plenty of places to get replacements. I use Super Bright LEDs.

Along with some instructions in the Owner's Manual, if you do some searching you will find a couple of threads here which discuss how to get to the bulbs. You might even try to pull one for a look in advance of any purchase.

Only the brake lights are LED.

Thanks for the advice. I did find it odd when the auto parts store told me I couldn't order them yet. They said something about lexus having a 7 year patent on that model's bulbs. I'll definitely keep looking around and check put the links. Thanks again!

Unhappy New bulbs still don't work

Well after going to several parts stores and searching the internet I ended up purchasing bulbs from the dealership. Once we replaced the bulbs it still wasn't working. The blinkers and other lights around the fender tail light work fine and we checked the fuses. There seems to be a short somewhere that is cutting off the electrical current to that light specifically. I'm not really sure where to go from here except go back to the mechanic and have them look at it.

After talking with the parts specialist at the dealership, it turns out my manual is incorrect. It says the same thing as my mom's 2004 rx, but they are different. My hatch tail lights are the 168 bulbs and my fenders are LED which meant I had to purchase an entire circuit piece that plugs in...not cheap as far as replacement bulbs are concerned. I wish it had been a 168 too.

Can you post some pictures of your problem? Something doesn't sound right here. What fender lights are led, the only led lights are the brake lights.

My RR break light flickers sometimes, so I know thats going to die at any time. I`m sure a cop will be right behind me when it occurs. They say the luck of the Irish? Dont believe that one for a minute.
