LED replacement bulbs for tail lights?
Has anyone ever tried these bulbs to see how they look compared to normal bulbs?
I know some of the SC tail lights look pretty dim and was woncering if these would help or not.http://209.87.151.155/search_results...l=2&subcat=458

i did this project a year and a half ago, contacted ledtronics and bought yellow, red, and super white bulbs' dont waste your time with this purchase. the stock bulbs support your tailight lenses much better.in fact, the leds actually make the lens look a bit dimmer in comarison to the stock.
There are two reasons for using LEDs instead of incandescents, Power consumption and relaibility.
Some vendors claim the quicker "on" time helps, and maybe it does, but the power consumption is about 10-20% of incandescents and relaiblity is up by about 1000%
Using a lightmeter I actually had to add a resister to the red tail/parking light level in order to bring them down to equal to the incandescents. But I would agree that, overall, the LED bulbs are not as bright, they have more coherence to the light output, making them seem brighter to someone directly behind.
Incandescent basically put out an equal level of light in all directions, LEDs are more focussed.
Oh, I don't use LEDs for backup lights, I buy a standard bulb, smash the glass, and solder in a slightly higher wattage halogen.
